MIC was first established as Office of Postal Service and reformed & expanded as Ministry of Information & Communication as of 1994 to administrate national information orientation, information & communication biz, broadcasting and postal & financial services.

Required improvement
As an official department of MIC, Korea Post provides postal service and financial services at over 3,000 branches nation-wide generating great amount of traffic. Traffics from computerized business management and financial services were transferred to its allocated backbone net of MIC.

- Allot wasn¡¯t able to provide quick reaction when maintenance is required for system failures.
